DayBriefly ("DayBriefly," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information you share with us.

DayBriefly is a productivity and organizational support platform that lets users capture information through text, voice, images, and similar inputs, then generate organized summaries, reminders, briefs, and related outputs from that information.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have when using our website, web app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using DayBriefly, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

What This Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through DayBriefly's website, signup flow, web app, support channels, and related communications.

It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services that may link to or from DayBriefly. Those third parties have their own policies and practices.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, join a waitlist, subscribe, or contact us, we may collect information such as your name, email address, billing-related information, login credentials, and messages you send us.

User Content

We collect the content you choose to submit, including notes, voice recordings, images, photos, prompts, uploads, and similar materials. We also collect the summaries, briefs, reminders, agendas, and other outputs generated from that content.

Usage Information

We may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, dates and times of access, clicks, and similar activity data.

Cookies and Similar Tools

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, improve performance, and support core site functionality.

We categorize cookies as follows: essential cookies, which are required for the Service to function; analytics cookies, which help us understand how users interact with the Service; and preference cookies, which remember your settings and choices. We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any consent mechanism required by law.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

Communications

If you contact us for support or other questions, we may keep records of those communications.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and support DayBriefly
  • Create summaries, briefs, reminders, agendas, and related outputs from your submitted content
  • Manage accounts and provide customer support
  • Send service-related messages, onboarding emails, and account notices
  • Deliver scheduled outputs, including email summaries or briefs you choose to receive
  • Improve performance, troubleshoot issues, and build new features
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Service
  • Detect abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, or violations of our Terms
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

Legal Basis for Processing

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing personal information, our legal bases include:

  • Contractual necessity: processing required to provide the Service to you, including account creation, content processing, output generation, and delivery of scheduled outputs
  • Legitimate interest: processing for purposes such as improving the Service, troubleshooting, detecting abuse, and maintaining security, where those interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Consent: processing based on your specific, informed consent, such as optional communications; you may withdraw consent at any time by contacting support@daybriefly.com
  • Legal obligation: processing necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes

Automated Processing

DayBriefly uses automated systems, including AI-assisted processing, to turn user-submitted content into structured outputs such as summaries, reminders, agendas, briefs, and insights.

These outputs are based on the information you provide. They are intended to support organization, follow-through, and situational awareness. They are not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or suitable for every use.

You are responsible for reviewing and deciding how to use any generated output.

Third-Party AI Processing

To generate outputs from your submitted content, DayBriefly may transmit User Content to third-party AI service providers for processing. These providers are contractually required to process your content only for the purpose of performing services on our behalf. We require our AI providers to maintain appropriate data protection practices, but the specific providers we use and the terms governing their processing may change over time.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following situations:

Service Providers

We may share information with vendors and providers that help us operate the Service, such as hosting, infrastructure, analytics, billing, customer support, communications, storage, authentication, and AI-processing providers.

Legal Reasons

We may disclose information if needed to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of DayBriefly, our users, or others.

Business Transfers

If DayBriefly is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that process.

With Your Direction

We may share information when you ask us to do so or when sharing is part of a feature you choose to use.

Email Delivery

DayBriefly may deliver certain outputs, including summaries, reminders, or briefs, by email or similar communication methods based on your settings or your use of the Service.

Once information is delivered outside the DayBriefly platform, its storage, forwarding, access, and handling may depend on your email provider, device, organization, or recipient environment. DayBriefly cannot control all downstream handling once that information leaves the platform.

You are responsible for deciding whether email delivery is appropriate for your intended use.

Communications and Opt-Out

DayBriefly sends two types of email communications: transactional emails, which include outputs you have requested, account notices, security alerts, and support replies; and non-essential emails, which may include product updates, onboarding tips, feature announcements, and similar messages.

Transactional emails are part of the Service and cannot be opted out of while your account is active. You may opt out of non-essential emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by contacting support@daybriefly.com.

Data Processing Location

DayBriefly processes and stores information in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you acknowledge this transfer. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you submit and for making sure you have the right to share it with DayBriefly.

DayBriefly is intended as a productivity and organizational support tool. It is not intended for the storage, transmission, or processing of Protected Health Information ("PHI") or other regulated, highly sensitive, or confidential information that you are not authorized to share.

If you work in a regulated or confidential environment, you are responsible for deciding whether the information you submit is appropriate for the Service.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep personal information and user content for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

If you request deletion of your account or data, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify applicable information within a reasonable period, as required by applicable law, subject to legal, backup, security, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping requirements.

Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or archived systems until they are overwritten or securely deleted in the ordinary course.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. These measures may include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable cloud infrastructure providers.

No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach involving personal information that poses a risk of harm to affected users, DayBriefly will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by applicable law.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Access certain personal information we hold about you

DayBriefly is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above.

Your continued use of the Service after the updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the revised policy.
